Buddy Bell is the Royals next manager.
That sucks.
Of the five candidates he was the last guy I wanted in the position.
I'll have some more thoughts and maybe some analysis after the press conference later this afternoon or early this evening.
Now, where did I put those anti-depressants?
EDIT: I'd like to hear what some other Royal fans think... Bad hire or good hire? If not Bell, who would you have hired? Someone from the "short list" or someone who didn't get an interview? Thoughts are good...Together we can get through this.

at least it's not Art Howe...When I first saw buddy bell my stomach turned a bit(I was personally rooting to Collins.) Reading more indepth about Bell he just might work, granted his record isnt even .500, but his ability to run a dugout as a tactician and a developer of young players just might fit in here at KC. Only time will tell
I was not thrilled when I heard the news, but what do I really know? Maybe Allard Baird knows what he's doing. Maybe he doesn't, but I can only assume that he has some reasons for his hire that we're not seeing. Bell certainly didn't seem very enthusiastic at his press conference. Can't blame him, really.
I was rooting for Terry Collins too, but we might as well classify this as The Move That Doesn't Matter Anyway. The Royals can focus on what's actually important: the draft.
